Whatcom Community College is a public community college serving an average of 7,182 students each quarter (3,843 full-time equivalent students). WCC, which is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, offers associate degrees in academic transfer, general studies, and technical/professional areas, as well as opportunities to complete high school, or take classes for personal enrichment. The college also has special programs to assist students in acquiring learning skills necessary for academic and occupational success. A strong Community Education Department offers classes about diverse interests and skills, such as photography, fictional writing, and computer software.
